AFRICAN CARRIBEAN ELDERS Membership Status: Full member Contact Person: Sharon Millington (Interim Director) Contact Details: 86 Abbey Road, London NW8 0QA Tel: 020 7372 0862 Fax: 020 7625 1825 E-mail: To be supplied later Profile: The service provides advice sessions, advocacy, health promotion, and social activities including dominoes, bingo, sewing classes and music. Other services include movement, crafts, outings, and social activities. Meanwhile the services of a hairdresser are also available, whilst transport and other provision is made for people with disabilities. Special projects include the UK Online Learning Centre, a Good Neighbour Scheme helping African and Caribbean people at home with small jobs, correspondence and other tasks. A Carers Hospital Discharge Worker helps informal and family carers to access services. The centre also functions as an UK Online Centre (primarily but not exclusively for older African and Caribbean people).
